In addition to the Consolation Ministries of Little Saints, Red Bird Ministries, and Grieving with Great Hope, many ministries at Saint Catherine of Siena celebrate the lives of our loved ones and offer consolation for families who are or have experienced loss. Please know you are carried in our hearts and prayers now and for years to come.
The participants of the Prayer Line Ministry would love to offer you and your family up in prayer.
St. Catherine of Siena’s Respect Life Ministry has two consolation events in November and December. In November, they offer an All Soul’s Service, a mass for the commemoration of all the faithful departed. On December 28th, they welcome all parishioners, especially parents and families who have lost a child through miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth or infant death, to a special memorial mass. A special ceremony for families who have experienced loss will take place after Communion and a reception in the gathering space will follow.
Mercy Ministry volunteers provide food donations for funerals.
The Baptismal Ministry provides a prenatal blessing and a white rose which is kept by the statue of Mary as a reminder for our parish to pray for each of the little souls within each expecting mother in our parish. The red is for all those whose lives have been lost before they could be baptized, who we believe to be resting in eternal peace by the mercy of God.
The Church Decorating Ministry will arrange the memorial flowers donated on behalf of your loved ones at Easter & Christmas.
On the walls near the baptismal font, we remember those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith who have memorials established with St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
Fr. Dan Spexarth has placed a yellow candle on each side of Infant Jesus of Prague to be perpetually lit for the consolation and strength of families who have lost a child to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, and abortion.
